Sensitive skin and a lack of sensation is an issue with diabetics especially in their outer limbs. Therefore, clothing need to be non-constricting and without rough spots that can irritate skin.
Socks that are non-binding and seamless may be neccessary to prevent feet abrasions. Shoes and slippers should preferable be with smooth inner linings and Velcro-like hook and loop closures that can be adjusted for comfort should swelling occur.
