How to Measure for a Proper Fitting Apparel

MEN'S CLOTHING

Shirts: Usually sold by neck size. Long sleeve may also sold by sleeve length.

Neck Measurements: Measure a shirt collar that fits well. Lay the collar flat. Measure from the center of the collar button to the far end of the opposite buttonhole.

Pants, Boxers or Briefs: Usually sold by waist size.

Waist Measurements: Measure around natural waistline. For belts, order same as pants waist size. If between sizes, order the next larger size.

Inseam: Measure pants that fit well. Measure along the inseam from the crotch to the bottom of inner pant leg. If measurements are taken while the person is seated add 2"

WOMEN'S CLOTHING:

Bust: Measure across shoulder blades and fullest point of the bust holding tape firm and level. Half sizes, measure up to the next size. Add five to that number, rounding up if necessary to the next even number. This is your BAND size.  Then measure all around the fullest part of the breast without pulling tight. Subtract the number from the band size (40-38= 2). The result will indicate the appropriate Cup size, based on the following guide.

0=AA

1=A

2=B

3=C

4=D

5=DD

6=DDD

 

Waist: Measure around natural waistline. If your measurements are between sizes, order the next larger size.

Hips: Measure around widest part of hips. If your measurements are between sizes, order the next larger size .
